This introductory text-based online course provides continuing education relative to the professional practice of massage therapy. The purpose of this course is to assist the student in the identification and prevention of medical errors and to ensure client safety. This course focuses on areas such as the definition and types of medical errors, sentinel events, root cause analysis, possible factors and causes, prevention strategies, and errors of reporting and documentation, the professional's critical role in reporting medical errors, Teamwork and collaboration in prevention, and a brief overview of laws that are related to client safety.
